How does it work?

The primary feature of Window Wall™ is a flexible projection window-up to 30 feet wide by 20 high-suitable for any sized room. The image is projected directly onto studio walls (no screen or monitors needed) and allows educators and students located in different locations to interact at a full, life-size scale.

The high-resolution image creates the experience of looking directly from one studio to another and allows teachers and students to utilize the whole room for delivering content. Window Wall™ is a unique, life-size teaching platform providing a remote experience which is as real as being there. Additional features include: sophisticated sound mixing, dynamic lighting, and facial recognition auto-tracking cameras.

How is it used?

Window Wall™ (as part of the LIVE Center) was used at George Mason University to facilitate 25 socially distanced classes (24 class sessions each) for the School of Dance throughout the Fall 2020 semester. In addition, Window Wall™ allowed for Hope Boykin (pictured in top right photo) of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to do a seven week residency with Mason students while she remained in New York, and connected Broadway actress Laura Osnes to Mason Theater students for a masterclass. Window Wall™ systems were also used for two special events: Drive-In Dance an outdoor performance where students danced with accompanying projections, and Beyond the Stage where an outdoor, socially distanced audience watched student-made dance films projected on exterior walls of the Concert Hall.
